Selena Hartley thought her biggest challenge would be surviving adulthood. At just twenty, she’s moved into her very first apartment and started a quiet life waiting tables at the local diner. After an exhausting shift, she slips into a hot bath and takes a nap—only to awaken to a nightmare.

The city outside her window has turned into, madness. Streets crawl with the shambling dead. With no time to think, Selena must navigate a world that has decayed overnight, dodging the infected and scavenging through abandoned homes and blood-streaked alleys.

Her only hope lies in the one safe place she can still imagine: her father’s plant shop on the far side of the city. Through ruined neighborhoods and overrun subways, Selena fights not just for survival, but for a reunion that may be her last chance to escape.

But the closer she gets, the more she realizes that the city isn’t the only thing rotting.
